Jesus Christ vs. Rich Exploiters

Jesus Christ, whose birthday we are about to celebrate, was a radical, a subversive, a non-conformist. He was also a poor, homeless guy who said He had no place to lay His head.

He didn't think very highly of the 1% or super wealthy. In fact, He said it was nearly impossible for a rich man to enter heaven (Matthew 19:23, 24). His brother James told rich men to weep and howl for the miseries that were to come upon them, because they exploited the working class (James 5:1-6).

Jesus did not condemn working hard and making money. Sometimes God will bless people with great abundance in the material realm. But the rich tend to trust in their riches, mock the poor, and think they have no need of God. Look at what happened to Solomon.

Jesus was awfully rude to bankers too, in fact the only time it is recorded in the gospels that He went ballistic was in the temple (why didn't He respect the Institution?) and knocked over the tables of the money changers.

Today, He would have been pepper sprayed, tear gassed, or shot dead.

Megyn Kelly, Judge Jeanine Pirro, Lou Dobbs, Mike Huckabee, and Glenn Beck would be praising the cops -- and saying we need to avoid anarchy and respect authorities.
